New Fast & Furious: Supercharged details revealed
Construction of the new Fast & Furious: Supercharged attraction at Universal Studios is ramping up in preparation for its 2018 debut. Universal Orlando has been fairly hush-hush about the ride until today. The attraction will be a supercharged (pun intended) version of the Hollywood tram addition, similar to how Skull Island: Reign of Kong was.
The ride will feature more of your favorite Fast characters than ever before in Fast & Furious – Supercharged. For the first time ever, Tej (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) will join the cast, and will join Dom (Vin Diesel), Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), Roman (Tyrese Gibson) and criminal mastermind Owen Shaw (Luke Evans).
There will be a total of 15 cars from the Fast & Furious series on display inside the attraction, 12 from the movie, and 3 designed specifically for this attraction.
Universal also revealed that the attraction will be yet another addition to their virtual line system, similar to Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon. The system allows guests to reserve a time slot for the attraction and come back at a later time.
More details were revealed about the storyline of the attraction as well. According to Universal, guests will be “immersed in the ultimate Fast & Furious experience. Hit songs from the films’ soundtracks fill the rooms as memorable scenes from the series play around you. You make your way through familiar places inspired by the films, like the Family Room – complete with photos of the Fast family – and Tej’s high-tech War Room.”
You are then invited to attend a race after-party, and Tej arranges for a custom party bus to get you there.
But, as in most theme park attractions, not everything goes to plan. As you make your way to the party, Dom calls with an urgent message. Owen Shaw is headed your way. A high-speed chase ensues, and you must rely on the Fast family to lead you to safety.
Fast & Furious: Supercharged is scheduled to open in spring 2018.
