Star Wars Resistance coming to Disney Channel and Disney XD later this fall

Disney announced a new Star Wars animated series coming that will be set before the stories of Star Wars: The Force Awakens called Star Wars Resistance.

The new show will take familiar faces, such as Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma, and pair them with new ones, including Kazuda Xiono. Who, according to the press release, is a “young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order.”

Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie will be reprising their roles as Phamsa and Poe as well.

The series is being created by Lucasfilm animation director Dave Filoni.

Star Wars Resistance will premiere this fall on the Disney Channel in the U.S. and then on Disney XD.
