Long-range capabilities of the MagicBand’s has begun at Walt Disney World

MyMagic+ now available to day guests and on-site resort guests at Walt Disney World

It looks like long-range capabilities of the MagicBand’s will begin tomorrow at the Walt Disney World Resort.  The park will begin testing a new process of delivering your on-ride photo to you on certain rides:

  • Dinosaur
  • Expedition Everest
  • Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
  • Space Mountain
  • Splash Mountain
  • Test Track
  • Rock n Roller Coaster
  • Tower of Terror

This will for now only work if you have purchased a Memory Maker.  Once you ride one of above attractions, the on-ride photo will automatically be linked to your My Disney Experience account.  You will also need a MagicBand for this method to work.  It will not work with the plastic RFID cards.

This is the first use for long-range capabilities of the MagicBand’s and I am sure Walt Disney World will have more uses down the road.
