“Disney Paint the Night” debuts on October 1 to bring a new nighttime pectacular to Hong Kong Disneyland


The all-new “Disney Paint the Night” parade will officially debut on October 1 at Hong Kong Disneyland.  This new parade will feature over 740,000 individual lights and will feature all of your favorite Disney/Pixar characters.

“With Disney Paint the Night, Hong Kong Disneyland will be transformed into an outdoor moving party with vibrant colors and music every night. During the Cast Members’ preview nights we staged last week, our Cast Members were completely wowed by the spectacular experience and embraced the exciting atmosphere and exhilarating fun.” said Andrew Kam, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

“Disney Paint the Night” is the first ever fully LED lit parade at a Disney theme park.  Disney’s creative team spent more than two years on the scenic and lighting designs for the new parade ensuring every moment will ‘wow’ guests.


The parade will feature a total of seven floats throughout the parade.  These floats include Tinker Bell Opening Unit, Monsters, Inc. Unit, Cars Unit featuring a huge Mac float, The Little Mermaid Unit, Belle Candlelight Unit, Toy Story Unit, and the Mickey & Friends Finale Unit.


The floats won’t be the only thing lighting up the streets at Hong Kong Disneyland.  The actors will feature several LED accessories and clothing, including their hair.  There will be more than 25 different styles of clothing for the new parade featuring various lighting arrangements.  The actors will even have LED eyelashes!


Disney is also releasing new “Made with Magic” merchandise, allowing guests to be come part of the action.  The “Mickey Magic Paint Brush” will change the colors of certain costumes with the touch of a button.  Other merchandise includes the  “Mickey Glow Mitt” and “Minnie Glow Bow,” all allowing the guests to become part of the nighttime fun.

Guest can also visit the Tomorrowland Bootique to be painted in funky colors to become part of the nighttime celebration.
