Guests pack the parks at Walt Disney World to ring in the New Year

Walt Disney World Resort Sends 2012 out with a Bang

Yesterday, tens of thousands of guests flood the gates from Walt Disney World to Universal to ring in the new year.

The Magic Kingdom reached capacity at around 10 A.M. yesterday after opening its doors at 7 A.M.  The Magic Kingdom has an hourly capacity of around 40,000 people to give you an idea of how many people were in the park.

Many guests who had a 1-day 1-park ticket were turned away and told to visit one of the other three Walt Disney World parks.

Annual passholders and guests staying on property in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel were allowed into the Magic Kingdom.

There were no reports of Universal Orlando reaching any sort of capacity levels.
