The Boathouse opens at Downtown Disney offering a high-end dining experience

The Boathouse officially opened its doors on Monday at Downtown Disney as a new high-end dining experience at Downtown Disney.

The Boathouse comes from the minds of Steven Schussler of Schussler Creative, who is also responsible for several other Downtown Disney restaurants including Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex Cafe and Yak & Yeti.

One of the main attractions of the restaurant are its amphicars, which are amphibious cars that drive into the water and turn into boats.  Guests can join a captain for a 20-minute tour of the Downtown Disney, soon to be Disney Springs area.

You can also reserve a spot on an Italian water taxi for some champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries all while on a guided tour.

There are a total of three bars at the The Boathouse, including two of which are built over water.

Reservations are not being accepted currently as the restaurant evaluates when to begin a reservation system.
