Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey to be converted to 3D at Universal Studios Japan

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened at Universal Studios Japan not even a year ago and is already seeing changes.

The park will reportedly be converting their version of the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey to 3D, making it the first version of that ride to get the 3D treatment.

The announcement came during a special ceremony held at Universal Japan celebrating the one year anniversary of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan, which opened on July 15, 2014.

This opens the question of whether or not the 3D version here in Orlando will see the 3D makeover as well.  Universal Studios Hollywood is also currently building their own version of The Wizarding World with another installment of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.  A big announcement will be happening on June 2 for it.

The 3D conversion will make its debut at Universal Studios Japan tomorrow, May 21.

No word from Universal Studios Hollywood or Orlando if their versions will see the 3d conversion as well. We will keep you posted.

Have to give a special thanks to @parkscope on Twitter for the link.
