**UPDATE** The Orlando Eye continues to be closed after apparent oil leak

Merlin Entertainment announces opening dates for The Orlando Eye, Madame Tussauds and SEA LIFE Orlando

**UPDATE** The Orlando Eye has re-opened to the public and will be operating as normal.

The Orlando Eye has been down for more than 24 hours as the giant wheel experienced a technical glitch which later turned out to be an oil leak according to officials.

The ride was shut down at around 11 AM yesterday as it experienced a computer glitch, causing the ride to be shut down and investigated.

The Orlando Eye released a statement today saying “As a precautionary measure, the attraction was temporarily stopped while the wheel is examined. No guests were aboard when the attraction was stopped. The engineering team is working to ensure everything is operating properly and will begin operations again as soon as possible.”

Riders that had already paid to ride the giant wheel will get a voucher to come back and ride it again within 30 days.

Guests are asked to call 866-228-6438 for more details.

We will keep you posted as soon as we hear more and when The Orlando Eye re-opens to guests.
