Universal Studios Hollywood to make a Wizarding World of Harry Potter announcement on June 2

Universal Studios Hollywood has been quietly chugging along on their version of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  The new area was announced at Universal Studios Hollywood back in 2011 during a giant Butterbeer toast.  The original Hogsmeade opened at Islands of Adventure in June of 2010.

The new area will be similar to the versions already open at Universal OrlandO Resort and most recently, Universal Studios Japan.  The area will be based on the Hogsmeade section of The Wizarding World and not the recently opened Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida.

The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride and Three Broomsticks are all rumored to be part of the new area at Universal Studios Hollywood along with some of the other retail spots at Hogsmeade, which will most likely be announced during the June 2 broadcast.

The announcement will happen on on June 2 at 1PM ET / 10AM PT on Universal Studios Hollywood’s Youtube channel here.

We will most likely also get an opening date for the new area as well.
