Blumhouse trio of terror coming to Halloween Horror Nights

Blumhouse coming to Halloween Horror Nights

Jason Blum announced today that three of his iconic horror films are coming to Halloween Horror Nights at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando in an all-new haunted house.

The haunted house will be called “The Horrors of Blumhouse”  at both parks and will feature a variety of films from Blumhouse. The Purge, Sinister and Happy Death Day will be featured at Universal Studios Hollywood, and Insidious, Sinister and The Purge will be featured at Universal Orlando Resort.

“It’s a privilege to collaborate with Jason Blum and his team at Blumhouse Productions to create ‘The Horrors of Blumhouse,’” said John Murdy, Creative Director at Universal Studios Hollywood and Executive Producer of “Halloween Horror Nights.”  “The decisive, inventive way in which he interprets underlying issues plaguing today’s society into his films provides us with a plethora of content to create truly captivating, one-of-a-kind modern horror experiences for our guests.”

According to the press release, the haunted house at Universal Orlando will feature the menacing demon Bughuul, from the infamous Sinister franchise, the gang of bloodthirsty home invaders from the first installment of The Purge saga, and the Lipstick-Face Demon from Chapter 1 of Insidious. Then guests will have a sneak peek at Insidious: Chapter 4, which hits theaters January 5, 2018.

Over at Universal Studios Hollywood, their version of the “The Horrors of Blumhouse,” guests will “attempt to survive the night as they are immersed in the film’s depraved world.” The house will also feature the upcoming Happy Death Day film, where guests will “experience a deja-vu scenario as they are forced to relive the last day of their lives over and over again in an attempt to escape a masked killer.” The final encounter will be within the world of the film Sinister, where guests will “encounter an ancient pagan deity who is determined to trap them in the sordid shadow world of the dead…for all eternity.”

The Purge will also be featured in a scare zone at Universal Orlando Resort this year and Insidious will have a stand-alone haunted house at Universal Studios Hollywood, rounding out a variety of Blumhouse-themed haunted houses and scare zones this year for HHN.

Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood on September 15.
