Rev up those smartphones: Mario Kart is coming to a smartphone near you
Nintendo has been on a recent push lately do get a lot of their exclusives onto handheld devices, such as the release of Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
The company is ready to take what could be its biggest gamble yet and release what is perhaps one of their most popular games to a mobile platform, that of course, being Mario Kart. The company announced via Twitter that Mario Kart Tour is in development for the iPhone and Android operating systems and will be available in March of 2019.

Hopefully Nintendo doesn’t muddy up the game with micro-transactions and does it tastefully. We will have to wait and see how the game comes out next year. Nintendo’s mobile games have not necessarily been cash cows. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has had 22 million downloads and has made the company $17 million.
Nintendo also announced today that they are indeed working with Illumination on an all-new animated Mario film. Details can be found here.
