New “Digital Key” coming to My Disney Experience app

Soon guests will be able to unlock their hotel door via the My Disney Experience app

A new feature will soon be coming to the My Disney Expereince app allowing guests to unlock their room door via the app.

The update will also allow guests access to other areas of the resort that are normally locked, including the hotel entrance gate and common area doors that require a key. These include pools, fitness centers, elevators and club level lounges.

This new feature will allow guests that have checked in online to bypass the usual check in process at the hotel and head straight to their room.

Here is how it works:

Guests will need a Bluetooth®-enabled mobile device with the latest version of the My Disney Experience app to take advantage of a digital key for room entry.

This new update will begin at Wilderness Lodge and other resorts will most likely follow suit.
