Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey gets 4K upgrade at Universal Orlando

Hogwarts Castle at Islands of Adventure

Many of Universal’s most popular attractions that utilize screen projections have been getting upgrades over the last several years, the most recent being Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, which quietly got the upgrade earlier this year but Universal finally confirmed it today via their blog.

According to Universal, upgrading the technology to 4K allows the attraction  to project “higher-quality imagery that is even more realistic and offers superior clarity, and the sharper images will further submerge you into the storyline.”

Nothing has changed in regards to the storyline, just that the images you see while in the “projection domes” will be a lot more clearer and crisp now.

Universal Studios Hollywood’s version of the attraction got the 4K upgrade back in early 2017.
