Disney World gives update on Tron Lightcycle Power Run construction
We got our first official update from Disney World today in regards to the construction of the new TRON Lightcycle Power Run roller coaster at the Magic Kingdom.
The park announced some closures related to the construction of the roller coaster today, including:
- Tomorrowland Speedway will close for a portion of 2019, as the attraction’s track is adjusted. It will reopen as the same attraction later in 2019.
- Walt Disney World Railroad will temporarily take up residence at the Main Street Station starting in December 2018, pausing its grand-circle tours of Magic Kingdom Park. During this time, guests will be able to get an up-close look at the railroad and take advantage of one-of-a-kind photo opportunities.
The park also shared new details about a construction sign that can now be seen leaving the Fantasyland train station. We were able to get a few photos of the new signage (seen above).
TRON Lightcycle Power Run is scheduled to be completed in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
