New Food and Drinks coming to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando
Universal Orlando has announced a bevy of new food and drink options for Halloween Horror Nights 2018. From “Stranger Things” inspired treats to the return of some HHN favorites there will be many different food and drink options for you to chose from at this years event.
First up multiple treats inspired by the hit Netflix show “Stranger Things”. First up is the Triple Decker Extravaganza which will be available at the San Francisco Bakery. The triple-decker features three waffles filled with layers of whipped cream, chocolate, peanut butter morsels and jelly beans. Perfect for those Instagram foodie pics. Also at the bakery is two other waffle treats. Strawberry Shortcake with two waffles, fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce and whipped cream and Bananas Foster with banana cream cheese and hazelnut spread, topped with raisins, walnuts, whipped cream and a bananas foster sauce.
At Benny’s Burgers, which is named after the diner in season one of “Stranger Things,” in the New York area of the park. You’ll find cheeseburgers, hamburgers and chicken sandwiches, all served with a side of fries and you can get the Fudge Dipped Waffle on a Stick, topped with peanuts or sprinkles. At Louie’s Gelato Window you can get the Waffle Ice Cream Pocket Sundae. This is a ice cream sandwich with 2 chocolate chip waffles and stuffed with strawberry ice cream. You can top it off with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, sprinkles, chopped peanuts, and a cherry.
Also available are the Christmas Tree Light Cupcakes for your eating and picture taking pleasure and 11 Mini Donuts (can you guess why 11?), available in powdered sugar or cinnamon, covered in drizzles of red frosting.
Back for another year are the Fiery Onion Ring Burger at Mel’s Drive-In, the Chili Garlic Chicken Sandwich at Richter’s in San Francisco, and Pizza Fries at KidZone Pizza Company.
It wouldn’t be HHN without new drinks to go in your blinky cup. Here is the lineup of special drinks available this year.
- Totally L.I.T. (Long Island Iced Tea) – Vodka, tequila, gin, rum with triple sec, lime, sour and Coca-Cola
- Wicked Rad Punch – Blueberry vodka, raspberry vodka, triple sec, lemonade and grenadine
- Gnarly Twist – A perfect sweet and sour combo of both the Wicked Rad Punch and Totally L.I.T.
These will be available at drink tents throughout the park along with a wide variety of beer and wine options and you can visit the full bars like Chez Alcatraz and Finnegan’s for your mixed drinks.
There are also two new non-alcoholic frozen beverages that you’ll find in the New York area at the Gramercy Popcorn stand and the food and drink stand near the front entrance of Universal Studios. First up is Candy Corn. The bottom layer is toasted marshmallow; the middle is your traditional candy corn flavor; and the top is whipped cream with sprinkles. Also, is the “Stranger Things” inspired Syrup & Waffles. Which is a delicious blend of flavors with tiny waffles on top.
Last but not least, Voodoo Doughnut in Universal CityWalk has created a new Halloween Horror Nights Tombstone doughnut. It’s a yeast-raised doughnut with raspberry Bavarian cream, cookie crumble dirt and green grass sprinkles. Annual Passholders can purchase the doughnut first with a valid ID from Sept. 10-13. AP discounts will apply.
We can’t wait to try all of these new treats and drinks. Halloween Horror Nights will run for a record-breaking 36 select nights from September 14 to November 3.
