Soaring: Fantastic Flight to Open July 23, 2019 at Tokyo DisneySea

Tokyo Disney Resort announced that the new attraction, Soaring: Fantastic Flight will open on July 23, 2019 in Mediterranean Harbor at the Tokyo DisneySEA park.

Based on the Soarin’ Around the World attraction, that is in Epcot and other Disney parks, the attraction at Tokyo DisneySea will feature new scenes and visuals exclusive to the park at Tokyo Disney Resort.

The attraction will be about 5 minutes long. There will be 2 theaters with a capacity of 87 persons per theater. The attraction will have FASTPASS and will be available for the “Happy 15 Entry” which is an exclusive privilege for early entry for guests staying at a Tokyo Disney Resort hotel.

Here is a description of the attraction from Tokyo Disney:

“Nestled in the hills of Mediterranean Harbor, amidst the backdrop of an old world Italian village, the Museum of Fantastic Flight is dedicated to humankind’s enduring dream of flying. Today, the museum celebrates Camellia Falco a visionary innovator in the fledgling field of aviation with a special retrospective of her life. A grand tour of the museum includes a magical visit from the spirit of Camellia and culminates with Guests boarding her latest and greatest achievement a flying vehicle of her own design called the Dream Flyer. Guests soon experience what Camellia believed, that our imagination can propel us into the future and take us everywhere in the world we wish to go. And before Guests know it, their spirits are sent soaring.”

Sounds pretty cool and really fits into theme of Tokyo DisneySea. It will be interesting to see if Camellia Falco turns out to be another member of S.E.A., the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, the secret society that the Disney Imagineer’s have used to tie stories together in different attractions around the world.
