Canada’s Wonderland Completes Construction Of Yukon Striker

Canada’s Wonderland recently completed construction on their latest roller coaster, Yukon Striker. Once open, Yukon Striker will hold several records in the dive coaster category, including longest dive coaster, fastest dive coaster, AND tallest dive coaster.

Here are some stats on Yukon Striker:

  • Height of drop: 245 feet (includes underground tunnel)
  • Top speed: 80 mph
  • Length: 3,625 feet
  • Inversions: 4
  • Ride duration: 3 minutes, 25 seconds
  • Trains: 3 seating 24 (3 rows of 8)
  • Designer: Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland

What’s next for Yukon Striker? The trains will be installed while the loading station and landscaping are completed. After that, the park
will begin a thorough ride testing process, which includes running each train through hundreds of cycles
around the track; the initial passengers are water dummies that simulate rider weight.
