New Muppets TV Show Reportedly in the works for Disney+

When Disney+ was announced, one of the first rumors to come out was a new Muppets series to debut on the streaming service, and now that seems to be something that might become a reality! Josh Gad (Olaf from Frozen) and “Once Upon a Time” tv show creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have created a new series called “Muppets Live Another Day.”

Apparently, the show will immediately follow the events of “The Muppets Take Manhattan”, the plot of the movie being Kermit suffers from amnesia and then a huge Broadway show is put on.

Muppets Take Manhattan

The storyline of the new show is to be “Kermit disbands the gang but they are brought back together after the mysterious disappearance of Rowlf.” I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews from several Twitter posts, some disappointed that it won’t be a revival of “The Muppet Show”, which had a variety show format. There is also the Muppets TV series that ran from 2015- 2016 that met very mixed reviews.

I’m excited to see what the new show will bring us, which is expected to start streaming on Disney+ in 2020.
