First Look at “Jurassic World-The Ride” at Universal Studios Hollywood

We have a title! “Jurassic World – The Ride,” will be opening this summer at Universal Studios Hollywood! From the screen to the park, “Jurassic World – The Ride” will immerse guests into new environments and encounter animatronic dinosaurs, including some fan-favorites from the Jurassic World films. The ride is reimagined under the direction of Universal Creative, the Academy Award®-winning special-effects visionaries at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Lucasfilm, Ltd., Universal Pictures, Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Frank Marshall. The attraction has an original storyline taking place in the fictional theme park of Jurassic World films. There will be a new entry, stonework landscaping and a redesign of the iconic pillars with fire effects to showcase off the marquee logo.

The queue will be detailed as well, with new queue-line videos, showing off information about the dinosaurs you may encounter on the ride before your adventure begins.

Once aboard specially designed rafts, guests will navigate the lush environs of dense vegetation, traversing new areas besieged with towering dinosaurs meandering just an arm’s length away from visitors. Encounters with such docile creatures as the Stegosaurus and Parasaurolophus will quickly turn awry as predatory Velociraptors and Dilophosaurus begin to wreak havoc, turning guests from spectators to prey. When the Tyrannosaurus rex begins to battle one of the attraction’s new behemoth dinosaurs, the rafts will spill down a treacherous 84-foot waterfall as the sole means of escape.

Near the ride, the “Raptor Encounter” will still operate as normal, where you can meet Blue and her beta Raptors. Also, a new “Dino Play” area will pop up for children of all ages to participate in excavations, investigate fossils, and incorporate educational components.

There’s so much to do at Univeral Studios Hollywood, and you can see it all with their new 2019 Season Pass, where you can visit for the rest of the year, for a low price of $149 when purchased online. Blackout dates and restrictions apply. Visit for more details.
