Smoking Areas Eliminated from Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort Parks and more

Disney announced today that they are eliminating all of their designated smoking areas throughout their domestic theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Downtown Disney District at Disneyland. Resort. This is effective beginning on May 1, 2019.

Here is the official rule via the Walt Disney World website:

“Smoking areas will no longer be present in our domestic theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. Guests may use designated smoking areas outside of the parks, at Disney Resort hotels and at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort.”

Disney mentions that guests may continue to use designated smoking areas outside of their parks.

Disney also announced that “loose” ice is not allowed in their parks as well. The park recommends that guests use reusable ice packs. This goes into effect on March 28, 2019.

Another change is that Disney is also banning “stroller wagons” from all of its parks as well, similar to the one seen above. “Strollers must be 31” (79cm) wide and 52” (132cm) long or smaller,” Disney mentions on their website.
