New Galaxy’s Edge Details Revealed During Star Wars Celebration

Aside from the Coca-Cola announcement, we didn’t get a whole lot of major news from the Galaxy’s Edge panel at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago today. But we did get little tidbits of information that are new to everyone. So let’s check them out:

  • We got new concept artwork (above) of what appears to be the entrance area for the Rise of the Resistance attraction inside Galaxy’s Edge.
  • Captain RX-24 will be returning to Galaxy’s Edge. His story was revealed as his ship crashing and him being rebuilt by a Droidsmith and will be returning as DJ Rex inside Oga’s Cantina.
  • Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes will have new music being played inside Oga’s Cantina.
  • It was announced that Frank Oz will voice Yoda somewhere inside Galaxy’s Edge, although no details were given.

  • We also got more details on how the Play Disney Parks app will integrate into Galaxy’s Edge. Guests will be able to translate galactic languages, scan objects all around the spaceport—including items hidden inside space-shipping crates and containers, hack into the land’s many devices, control panels and droids and more!
  • Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will launch in the Play Disney Parks app on August 29, 2019
