Guests Will Need Reservation to get into Galaxy’s Edge After it hits Capacity

With the initial batch of Galaxy’s Edge reservations sold out at Disneyland, if you want to visit Batuu after June 23, you will still need a reservation to visit a Galaxy, Far, Far Away.

According to the OC Register, once Galaxy’s Edge reaches capacity, guests will have to fire up the Disneyland app and reserve a time slot, or a “boarding pass” as Disney is calling it, to return. A notification will be then sent to your smartphone when it is your time to return to the land. If for some reason you don’t have a smartphone, there will be kiosks throughout the park that will issue paper version of the boarding passes.

Guests are allowed to freely walk into Galaxy’s Edge in the morning until the area reaches capacity. There will be a status bar in the Disneyland app that will allow guests to find out when Galaxy’s Edge has reached capacity, which will most likely not take very long.

It will be very interesting to see if a similar method is implemented on the east coast at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when their version opens later in August.
