As the 2015 season kicks off at many theme parks around the country, many parks are planning to kick their 2016 plans into gear.
A new interesting trademark has surfaced by the Herschend company, owner of the Dollywood theme park.
The trademark is for the name SHOT ROD, a name that hints at a possible hot rod theme for their 2016 attraction.
Part of the trademark reads “Entertainment services in the nature of an amusement park ride, namely, a roller coaster with a classic car theme.”
A classic-car themed coaster would fit in perfectly near the front of the park where the Jukebox Junction area, kind of like a 50’s/60’s era hot rod theme.
What type of ride is Dollywood getting for 2016? No one knows for sure, but rumors have been swirling of a launched Mack looper to even a Rocky Mountain Construction coaster.
This is all just speculation at this point until we get an official announcement from Dollywood of course.
