Hersheypark amusement park, a 121-acre theme park with family-friendly rides and thrilling coasters, a water park and a zoo, opened today with the debut of Hershey’s Chocolatetown, a $150 million new region featuring Candymonium, the tallest, fastest, longest and sweetest coaster in Hersheypark, and other new experiences Where Fun Meets Chocolate.
Inspired by the legacy of Milton S. Hershey, the 23-acre development represents the largest investment in company history and features:
an entirely reimagined arrival experience
the custom Candymonium hypercoaster – boasting a lift height of 210 feet, a maximum speed of 76 mph, and a track length of 4,636 feet with the most airtime of any coaster at Hersheypark
a new home for the historic 100-year-old Carrousel
the first-ever Starbucks inside Hersheypark
Hyperdeck, an immersive virtual reality experience; and
Hersheypark Supply Co., a premier 10,000-square-foot flagship retail experience with the largest collection of apparel, gifts, and toys exclusive to Hersheypark.
“We are so excited to welcome our guests to Hershey’s Chocolatetown and debut Candymonium as part of our summer opening weekend,” said Vikki Hultquist, General Manager at Hersheypark. “From the distinctive Hershey’s candy theme that welcomes guests to our sweetest coaster Candymonium, this is an experience that can only exist in Hersheypark.”
Hersheypark looks forward to debuting the iconic Kisses Fountain in July, with more chocolate-themed surprises to come this summer. The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio, Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor and The Sweeterie Confectionery Kitchen are slated to open in 2021.
