On Oct. 1, 1971, Walt Disney World Resort officially opened to guests, and in the five decades since, the resort has grown in such a magical, and expansive way, that we’d like to think even Walt himself would be so amazed by what his company has accomplished. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” that will begin on Oct. 1, 2021!
This 18-month event will feature new experiences at the resort’s four theme parks and more, where ‘EARidescent’ décor will appear throughout the parks. Starting off with Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park, which will add to its new makeover from 2020 with new gold bunting, sparkling golden embellishments, and other new enhancements, including a 50th-anniversary crest.
Beacons of Magic at All Four Walt Disney World Theme Parks
Taking part in “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” the icons at each Walt Disney World theme park will transform into Beacons of Magic at night!
Mickey and Minnie: Dressed for the Occasion
Of course, the hosts of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” are Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse! They will be dressed in new custom-made outfits for this special occasion. Our favorite details are the beautifully embroidered impressions of Cinderella Castle backed by fireworks, and a beautiful, multi-toned, EARidescent fabric.
We will have more details about “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” soon! As always, be sure to follow ThrillGeek on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates from Disney World!
