It’s back! After “glowing away” in fall of 2019, the Main Street Electrical Parade may be making its grand return to Disneyland in Anaheim in 2022.
After teasing the parade’s return on multiple social media platforms, the Disney Parks TikTok appears to have confirmed that the spectacular nighttime pageant will be coming back in time for its 50th anniversary next year.
Having debuted in the summer of 1972, the Main Street Electrical Parade’s thousands of sparkling lights have delighted guests at Disney parks around the globe for nearly a half-century. The parade has had many “farewell” tours at Disneyland in the last few years, but it just never seems to stay away for long.
Disneyland has not run a parade, notably, the new Magic Happens parade since the park closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. A Christmas Fantasy Parade is due to bring parades back to the park in November.
