The Disney Wish is currently being constructed in Papenburg, Germany. Disney released some exciting information about the creative direction and updates on the ship as it reaches new stages of construction.
The staterooms will be peaceful, calming, functional, and full of uniquely Disney details. Each aspect of the ship has been vetted with designers and artists over the years to consider how color, light, and shapes interact in order to create a magical Disney experience. Most of the pieces for the Disney Wish were constructed (fabricated) off-site, so the teams needed to ensure all details were met during this process.
The Disney Wish will have 1,254 staterooms. Each of these rooms was created on an assembly line, including everything from furniture to walls to artwork. The final touch is placing these staterooms on the ship, where a crane directly places them strategically onto it. How cool is that?
The staterooms are described as “the perfect blend of what Imagineering does best: artistry and technical perfection.” Every detail on the ship was made with the guest experience in mind and to ensure a cruise unlike any other.
And, a final exciting detail, Rapunzel will be the Disney Wish stern character! Even more information about stern characters will be coming soon – stay tuned! The Disney Wish will set sail next June, and we cannot wait to hear even more about this exciting, brand-new ship and Disney experience.
