According to a press release sent out by SeaWorld Entertainment today, the proposed SeaWorld acquisition of Cedar Fair is NOT happening.
Here is what the short press release read:
In response to inquiries from various stakeholders, we confirm that our offer to acquire Cedar Fair was rejected. Unfortunately, we do not see a path to a transaction.
SeaWorld reportedly offered to buy the company for around $3.4 billion, about $60 per unit in cash, according to Bloomberg. Back in 2019, Six Flags had offered to acquire Cedar Fair for around $4 billion back in 2019, that deal also fell through.
