Guests were welcomed back to tHong Kong Disneyland on Thursday, April 21, 2022 after another extended closure due to COVID-19. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Ambassadors, Lily Chan and Tony Dick, also joined 50 Disney pals and performers to wave at guests and share in this exciting moment. A group of beloved Disney friends including Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale could not wait to see the happy guests once again! Snow White and Dopey, along with Alice and the White Rabbit; Disney Princesses including Cinderella, Jasmine, Belle, and Tiana; Duffy the Disney Bear, ShellieMay, StellaLou and ‘Olu Mel, as well as Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore, all danced with energy and joy to an upbeat Disney tune during this memorable moment.

“#TheMagicIsNow! It’s time to reunite and feel the magic once again. With the reopening today, we have prepared an array of surprises for our guests to make sure each celebration creates lasting precious memories. In appreciation of the support of our Disney fans, and to spread happiness with our community even further, we have doubled the magic of our previously announced online ticket donation by giving out a total of 10,000 park admission tickets to seven local NGOs – up from 5,000 tickets to five previously announced NGOs.” said Michael Moriarty, Managing Director, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

Disney friends will be pairing up to take selfies with guests, doubling the magic. Guests will have the chance to see Woody together with Bo Peep, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie, as well as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde! Several other Disney friends are eager to share special occasions with guests – including their own anniversaries! In April, Chip ‘n’ Dale are ready to make guests giggle with their adorable greetings. In May, guests can look forward to sharing their dreams with our star of the month, Goofy, and celebrate with Donald Duck and Stitch in June.

During each Disney friend’s respective month, guests will be able to take selfies with them and find themed merchandise to take home, such as the Donald Birthday, Stitch Summer, and Dance with Goofy series.

New shopping experience with the Emporium makeover

While the park was waiting for guests to come back, the Emporium experienced a makeover! The store’s layout has been divided into exciting themed displays. Guests will see a brand new Duffy and Friends-themed photo corner, shelf bursting with Belle’s home deco items in bright yellow, as well as a shelf with everything a Mickey fan could dream to have in their home. Our selfie-loving guests cannot miss the giant photo wall-themed around the Disney friends plush ball headband. Here, guests are invited to choose their favorite Disney Character plush balls to make their very own customized headbands.

Guests are also encouraged to dress in Disney-inspired outfits when visiting the park. Go check out the Disney-themed headbands and accessories at the Hong Kong Disneyland eStore before the long-awaited trip. Remember to also plan sweet surprises for loved ones’ special occasions in advance and select special gifts such as a Tsum Tsum bouquet or a personalized birthday hat. Different styles of StellaLou Eternal Flower Box Sets will be available at the Hong Kong Disneyland eStore in May, so guests can shop for exclusive romantic gifts online.
