SeaWorld Orlando is luring the bravest runners, walkers, and anything in between to embark on a one-of-a-kind nighttime terror 5K experience through the park- Howl-O-Sprint on Friday the 13th (September 13, 2024). This isn’t a typical 5K—it’s an immersive, heart-pounding course through the supernatural, promising thrills, chills, and a finish line participants won’t forget. The 5K begins at the stroke of midnight, setting the stage for a spine-chilling adventure.
Those who dare will dash through the racecourse while surrounded by relentless characters whispering curses and promises of spine-tingling fear. Participants will feel the adrenaline surge while speeding past roller coasters haunted by unspeakable terrors, all while navigating through the dark depths of SeaWorld Orlando where eerie landscapes and harrowing scare zones await.
The Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run culminates in a post-race celebration exclusive to brave racers and a limited number of spectators until 2 AM. Participants can revel and refuel at the Siren’s Bar, featuring devilishly delicious treats and electrifying live entertainment that will keep hearts racing long after crossing the finish line.
Competitive runners will have the opportunity to outpace their fellow participants and the spirits that haunt the course, with awards awaiting the top three overall male and female finishers. All participants will be able to track their escape times with the finish line clock, adding a competitive edge to this hair-raising event.
“For years, SeaWorld Orlando has been dedicated to delivering unforgettable experiences for our guests, and we continually listen to their desires for more immersive and experiential events,” said Jon Peterson, President of SeaWorld Orlando. “Our award-winning Howl-O-Scream is the perfect backdrop to introduce the Howl-O-Sprint 5K. This isn’t your average run; it’s a thrilling, heart-pounding journey through the supernatural that promises to be unlike anything our guests have ever experienced. We are excited to challenge the bravest among us to test their limits in this one-of-a-kind nighttime terror adventure on Friday the 13th.”
With the event limited to 4,000 participants, those interested are encouraged to sign up quickly before it’s too late. Due to the mature content, including scenes of violence, gore, and blood, the Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run is recommended just for adults. This event is not suitable for children.
