Fifth ‘Descendants’ Movie Coming To Disney Channel and Disney+

The upcoming fifth installment of the acclaimed Descendants film series is officially in the works for Disney Channel and Disney+, according to a statement released today by Disney Branded Television. The recently approved Disney Channel Original Movie will add to the dance-and-music-driven tales about the adolescent offspring of Disney’s most recognizable heroes and villains. As Princesses Red and Chloe, the daughters of the Queen of Hearts and Cinderella, respectively, Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker will return to their roles. The official title of the movie will be revealed later.
The following chapter, which begins soon after the events of the 2024 blockbuster Descendants: The Rise of Red, examines what Red and Chloe’s “happily ever after” actually entails after they return from their time-traveling exploits. The sequel explores the warning at the end of the first film: “There are consequences when you alter the fabric of time.” It is mainly set in modern-day Wonderland. Leonardo Nam makes a comeback as Maddox Hatter, alongside Cantrall and Baker. Liamani Segura as Red’s sister Pink, Brendon Tremblay as Max Hatter, Alexandro Byrd as Luis Madrigal, and Kiara Romero as Hazel Hook are among the new franchise descendants. As the casting process progresses, more characters will be confirmed.
Dan Frey and Ru Sommer (Descendants: The Rise of Red) and co-executive producer Tamara Chestna (Sneakerella) wrote the script, which will be directed by Kimmy Gatewood (The Babysitter’s Club, Girls5eva). Executive producers Gary Marsh and Suzanne Todd are returning to the franchise. Gatewood is a co-producer as well. Emmy® Award-winning choreographer Emilio Dosal (Sneakerella, Wicked) will bring the new music-and-dance scenes to life. These scenes have grown to be a beloved feature of the Descendants franchise.
