New Details About Smuggler’s Run Mission Featuring Mandalorian Revealed
At the SXSW panel titled “The Future of World-Building at Disney,” Jon Favreau, creator of The Mandalorian and Disney Legend, joined Imagineers Leslie Evans and Asa Kalama to announce an upcoming update to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction at Disney Parks. This enhancement, featuring Din Djarin (the Mandalorian) and Grogu (Baby Yoda), is set to debut on May 22, 2026, at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
The Imagineers have worked closely with The Mandalorian team, capturing scenes on the movie set to ensure the attraction aligns with the film’s narrative. Guests can anticipate visiting iconic Star Wars locations aboard the Millennium Falcon, including a potential trip to Cloud City.
Additionally, the panel revealed that the BDX droids, previously seen at Disneyland, will soon appear at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. These droids will also feature in the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu film.
