Say hello to these adorable otter pups who made their big onstage debut this past Friday! Born in December 2024, these cuties—Butternut, Biscuit, and Potato—have spent the last few months behind the scenes bonding with their parents, Mae and Kevin, and learning all the important otter life skills. Now, they’re ready to venture into their home at Otter Grotto and charm the Guests who come to visit!

These pups are Asian small-clawed otters, the tiniest of all otter species. They’re born with their eyes closed and rely heavily on their parents to teach them how to swim, eat solid food, and navigate the world—since they don’t depend much on instinct alone. There’s still so much to learn about this fascinating species, and we’re lucky to welcome these three delightful new members to the Animal Kingdom family.

Butternut, Biscuit, and Potato are the first otter pups born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom since 2018—and you can still spot their older otter relatives at the park too! Guests can visit the whole otter family at their habitat on Discovery Island.
