A swashbuckling new hangout is setting anchor in Adventureland later this year! Disney has unveiled new details about The Beak and Barrel, a Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern coming soon to Magic Kingdom Park.
Founded by legendary pirate rumrunner Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn and her sharp-beaked first mate, Rummy, this lively pub promises seafaring charm, storytelling, and plenty of pirate mischief for guests of all ages.
Meet Rummy the Barker Bird
Rummy, who keen-eyed fans may recognize as a nod to the original Barker Bird from the entrance of the classic attraction, watches over the tavern from his perch above the bar. He’ll lead toasts, share tales, and ensure the ship runs smoothly while Merry is away.
Inside The Beak and Barrel
The Mess – Once a mess hall for Spanish soldiers, this central gathering space features long communal tables, a candle-draped anchor overhead, and a massive bar crafted from shipwreck salvage. Guests will find the Enchanted Rum Bottle here, said to be gifted by Tia Dalma herself.
Captains’ Quarters – Tucked away in the tavern’s finer wing, these rooms still carry traces of luxury from the days of the Spanish Comandante—albeit now with pirate-slashed drapes and scorched décor. Miniature ships in bottles above the fireplace are rumored to come alive for a battle of legends.
More details, including the opening date and menu reveal, are on the horizon.
