The Walt Disney Company is officially heading to the Middle East. In a landmark announcement, Disney revealed plans to build its seventh global theme park resort in partnership with Miral, the creators of Yas Island’s immersive entertainment destinations. The new Disney resort will be located on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, marking Disney’s first-ever theme park in the region.
Blending iconic Disney storytelling with Emirati culture, waterfront views, and cutting-edge technology, the Abu Dhabi resort promises an innovative and immersive guest experience unlike anything before.
“It will rise from this land in spectacular fashion… authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati,” said Disney CEO Bob Iger.
The project will be developed by Miral, while Walt Disney Imagineering will lead creative design and operational planning. The resort will feature themed accommodations, exclusive dining and retail experiences, and brand-new attractions designed to reflect both Disney’s timeless stories and the rich culture of the UAE.

With Abu Dhabi situated within a four-hour flight for one-third of the global population, the new destination is set to become a major hub for Disney fans and international travelers.
“This will be our most advanced and interactive resort,” added Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences.
