Ride Review: Yoshi’s Adventure at Universal Epic Universe

Yoshi’s Adventure is an absolute charmer – bright, colorful, and tailor-made for the youngest theme park guests and the young at heart. If you’re a longtime Nintendo fan or simply love a gentle, feel-good ride, this one delivers on the cute factor in every way.

The ride begins with a whimsical queue that immediately brings you into the world of Yoshi. The interior queue space is reminiscent of Cat in the Hat at Islands of Adventure – not overly complex, but cozy and cartoonish, setting the stage nicely for the adventure ahead. Once you board your Yoshi vehicle, you’re off on a leisurely journey through iconic Mushroom Kingdom scenes, searching for glowing eggs with the help of some adorable animatronics.

Speaking of eggs – yes, the egg-hunting gameplay is a fun little interactive twist, and I definitely yelled “EGGS!” more than once. It’s simple but satisfying, especially for kids. The animatronics throughout the ride are delightfully cute, with plenty of little character cameos and background details that make the world feel alive.

That said, Yoshi’s Adventure is shorter, and some outdoor segments can get very hot, especially in the midday sun. If you’re visiting during peak summer, plan for that – shade is limited during certain parts of the ride path.

On the plus side, the low height requirement (34″) means even the littlest guests can ride, making this an ideal first theme park ride for toddlers and preschoolers. The pace is slow, the music is cheerful, and there’s no height-related tension for parents trying to keep the day smooth and inclusive.

Verdict:

Yoshi’s Adventure is a cute, low-stakes ride with fun theming and interactive elements. It’s ideal for families with young kids and fans of Nintendo’s softer side, but may not be essential for older thrill-seekers or those short on time. Still, it’s hard not to smile as you ride through this pastel-hued world of eggs, Yoshis, and Mushroom Kingdom charm.
