Big news from Destination D23! During the “Creating the Happiest Place on Earth” panel, Imagineer Chris Beatty unveiled a thrilling new update: Walt Disney himself is joining the Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom—through the magic of Audio-Animatronics.
Kirsten Komoroske, Executive Director of the Walt Disney Family Museum, shared the sentiment that this addition is a meaningful tribute: “The introduction of a new Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney … marks an exciting milestone … to celebrate the man behind the magic and inspire new generations … We appreciate the continued efforts … to keep Walt’s legacy alive.”
The attraction, beloved for portraying technological advances across four generations—with its classic theme song “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow”—is poised for a fresh, emotional introductory scene featuring Walt himself.
While details remain under wraps (like what the rest of the family—John, Sarah, and Rover—are up to), the Imagineers promise the beloved storytelling and charm of the show will remain intact. This update is all about enriching the experience for today’s guests.
