Disney Parks fans have a brand-new episode of We Call It Imagineering to enjoy, and this one focuses on perhaps the most iconic symbols of Disney magic: the castles.
Released this week, Episode 5, Building Castles, takes viewers behind the scenes with Walt Disney Imagineering to explore the artistry, history, and future of these beloved park icons. Each Disney resort around the world features a castle centerpiece, and the episode dives into what makes each one unique, from fun historical facts to the creative innovations that brought them to life.
Looking Back and Ahead
In addition to sharing stories about castles we already know and love, the episode also gives fans a look at the future. Imagineers teased plans for a new park icon in Abu Dhabi, noting that environmental elements like water could play a role in its design.
For the first time ever, a Disney castle will also set sail. Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Adventure, will feature a nature-inspired castle at sea, with subtle nods to princesses like Moana, Rapunzel, and Anna and Elsa.
