Meet Ginger, the Pumpkin Tree Aboard the Disney Treasure

The first-ever Halloween on the High Seas season is sailing on the Disney Treasure, and with it comes a brand-new character you can only find on this ship — Ginger, the Pumpkin Tree.

A Gourd-geous New Addition to the Grand Hall

Ginger stands tall in the Grand Hall, glowing with enchanted gourds and carvings inspired by the Genie from Aladdin. Her design reflects the world of Agrabah, blending banyan tree inspiration with elongated pumpkins that resemble gourds found in the region.

Philip Kelley, Show Director for Disney Live Entertainment, shared that Ginger’s look evolved throughout the process: “The pumpkins elongated a little bit — they look like traditional pumpkins but have more of a look of the gourds that you may see in that region of the world.”

The Tale of the Enchanted Pumpkin Tree

During the first night of your sailing, guests can gather in the Grand Hall for The Tale of the Enchanted Pumpkin Tree, where storytellers Coriander and Sage discover Ginger and help introduce her to Halloween traditions. As the tale unfolds, Ginger lights up in a dazzling display, glowing for the rest of the cruise.

A Tradition Across the Disney Fleet

Every Disney Cruise Line ship has its own enchanted pumpkin tree with a unique personality and story:

  • Reap on the Disney Magic
  • Bog on the Disney Wonder
  • Grim on the Disney Dream
  • Muckelbones on the Disney Fantasy
  • Boo on the Disney Wish
  • Ginger on the Disney Treasure

While the earlier ships feature trees inspired by Ray Bradbury’s The Halloween Tree, Boo on the Wish and Ginger on the Treasure bring a more whimsical, storybook approach.

Sailing Dates

Guests sailing on select 7-night voyages from Port Canaveral will have the chance to meet Ginger and celebrate Halloween on the High Seas this fall. The 2025 sailing dates are:

  • September 20
  • September 27
  • October 4
  • October 11
  • October 25

With festive décor, costumed characters, spooky movie screenings, and now Ginger lighting up the Grand Hall, the Disney Treasure is ready to offer a Halloween cruise unlike any other.
