The countdown is on to the Disney Destiny’s maiden voyage on November 20, 2025, and Disney Cruise Line has dropped a treasure trove of updates on what guests can expect aboard its heroes-and-villains-themed ship. From Marvel-inspired entertainment to pirate pubs, Broadway-style shows, and imaginative dining, this ship is shaping up to be one of the most immersive Disney Cruise experiences yet.

A Wakanda-Inspired Grand Hall

The ship’s Grand Hall will be the heart of the action, inspired by the rich lore and colors of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther. Guests can enjoy “Sounds of Wakanda,” a live percussion performance that brings the legends of Wakanda to life. Two traveling storytellers, Zayah and Gamble, will also pop up throughout the voyage with enchanted trunks filled with villainous surprises.

Entertainment Takes Center Stage

The Destiny’s Walt Disney Theatre will feature three major productions: returning favorites Frozen: A Musical Spectacular and Disney Seas the Adventure, along with the all-new Disney Hercules. This Broadway-style show will feature new puppetry, fresh arrangements of Alan Menken’s classic songs, and even “Shooting Star,” a song originally cut from the animated film.

Guests can also expect “With Great Power: A Marvel Comedy Show” — an adults-only comedy sketch performance using DIY props and sight gags to retell iconic MCU moments.

Dining and Lounges Full of Character

The ship’s Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King will combine dining with live storytelling inspired by Simba’s journey, complete with costumes influenced by African design and culture.

Nearby, Café Megara will nod to Greek mythology and Disney’s Hercules, while the glamourous De Vil’s Piano Lounge will embody Cruella de Vil’s black, white, and red style with couture-inspired décor and a spotted piano as its centerpiece.

Cask & Cannon: A Pirate’s Pub at Sea

For fans of Pirates of the Caribbean, the Destiny will debut Cask & Cannon, a pirate tavern-inspired lounge. Packed with Easter eggs from Disney Parks attractions and films, the space features mismatched furnishings, treasure chest décor, and even lanterns nodding to Disneyland Paris. A treasure map ceiling designed after Marc Davis artwork ties the theme together. Exclusive pirate-themed merchandise — including barware, apparel, and tote bags — will also be available.

Marvel Joins the Ship’s Signature Touches

For the first time ever, a Marvel Super Hero is featured as the ship’s stern character. A massive Spider-Man sculpture with Spider-Bots will decorate the back of the vessel. Inside, guests will be greeted by a bronze Black Panther statue in the Grand Hall, continuing the ship’s hero-and-villain motif.

Youth Spaces and Sweet Treats

Kids will dive into the candy-coated world of Wreck-It Ralph at the Oceaneer Club, complete with statues of Ralph and Vanellope. Over at Edna Á La Mode Sweets, guests can spot statues of Edna Mode and Jack-Jack while indulging in Pixar-inspired confections.

The Destiny Awaits

With construction milestones like float-out and conveyance complete, the Disney Destiny is nearly ready to welcome its first guests. Between the new Marvel entertainment, themed dining, and one-of-a-kind design details, the ship promises to set a new standard for Disney Cruise Line.

The maiden voyage sets sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on November 20, 2025.
