Tokyo Disney Resort has reached a historic milestone, welcoming its 900 millionth guest on January 6, 2026. The momentous occasion was celebrated at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, marking more than 42 years of Disney magic in Japan since Tokyo Disneyland opened on April 15, 1983.

This achievement arrives during a landmark year for the resort, as Tokyo DisneySea celebrates its 25th anniversary. The milestone highlights the enduring popularity of Tokyo Disney Resort as one of the world’s most beloved theme park destinations, drawing guests from across Japan and around the globe.

Operated by Oriental Land Co., Ltd., Tokyo Disney Resort expressed heartfelt gratitude to the millions of guests who have visited over the decades, as well as to The Walt Disney Company, dedicated cast members, and partners who have supported the resort’s continued success. Since its opening, the resort has focused on delivering immersive storytelling, innovative attractions, and unforgettable theme park experiences.

Looking ahead, Tokyo Disney Resort is preparing for several major celebrations and expansions. The Tokyo DisneySea 25th “Sparkling Jubilee” anniversary event will kick off in April 2026, honoring the world’s only Disney park themed entirely to the sea. The limited-time celebration will feature special entertainment, décor, and anniversary experiences for guests.

Future projects at Tokyo Disneyland are also in development, including a new Wreck-It Ralph–themed attraction inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios. In addition, Space Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland and its surrounding area are scheduled for a significant renovation, signaling the resort’s ongoing investment in innovation and guest experience.

Leaders from The Walt Disney Attractions Ltd. praised the milestone as a testament to the passion and dedication of Tokyo Disney Resort cast members, while also thanking guests who have helped create magical memories over the past four decades.

Tokyo Disney Resort’s 2026–2027 ambassadors also shared their appreciation, noting that guests from around the world have played a vital role in shaping the resort’s legacy. As Tokyo Disney Resort moves forward, it remains committed to evolving while preserving the magic that has made it a global theme park icon.

With the 900 millionth guest now welcomed, Tokyo Disney Resort, Tokyo Disneyland, and Tokyo DisneySea continue to look toward the future—creating new attractions, celebrating major anniversaries, and delivering unforgettable Disney experiences for generations to come.
