Universal Orlando Resort has announced the upcoming debut of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a high-octane outdoor roller coaster scheduled to join Universal Studios Florida in 2027. This new attraction is designed to replace the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, marking a significant evolution in the park’s premier coaster offerings.
The attraction will leverage advanced ride technology to immerse guests in the high-speed environment of Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious franchise. Riders will encounter 360-degree drifting sensations and complex maneuvers, headlined by a 170-foot vertical “spike” that ascends nearly 17 stories above the Universal CityWalk perimeter.
The addition of this coaster serves as a key component of the ongoing expansion and innovation strategy at Universal Destinations & Experiences. In tandem with the Orlando project, Universal Studios Hollywood is also set to debut its own version of the Hollywood Drift experience later this year.
Universal Orlando also announced that Fast & Furious – Supercharged will permanently cease operations in 2027.
Universal Orlando Resort will release additional technical details and specific opening dates in the coming months. Parties interested in the project’s development or registration for high-speed coaster updates may visit the official website at www.UniversalOrlando.com.
