Fans of the hit global phenomenon Bluey have a major reason to celebrate. Alton Towers Resort has officially announced the arrival of the world’s first-ever Bluey rollercoaster: “Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!”

Set to debut in Spring 2026 within CBeebies Land, this new attraction promises to bring the “limitless energy” of the Heeler family to life in a way that fans of all ages can enjoy.

A Journey Through the Heeler Backyard

The ride centers around one of the show’s most beloved running gags: Bluey and Bingo dressing up as their alter-egos, the mischievous grannies Janet and Rita. Passengers will join the pair as they cause “granny-themed mischief” throughout a vibrant recreation of Bluey’s backyard.

The experience is designed as a junior coaster, meaning it is specifically tailored for younger children and those experiencing their very first “big” ride. The track layout features gentle dips and sweeping turns, winding through a colorful landscape of trees, flowers, and hidden surprises from the show.

More Than Just a Ride

The excitement begins before guests even board the coaster. The attraction features an interactive queue line where families can explore a recreation of the iconic Heeler house. This area is packed with:

  • Photo Opportunities: Plenty of spots for the perfect family selfie.

  • Play Activities: Games and interactive elements to keep little ones entertained while they wait.

  • Immersive Theming: Detailed environments that make visitors feel as though they’ve stepped directly into an episode of the series.

The Ultimate Bluey Getaway

The new coaster is the latest addition to Alton Towers’ growing “Bluey” portfolio. The resort has positioned itself as the premier destination for fans, offering a full “Heeler” experience that extends beyond the ride:

  • Bluey Live: A stage show at Big Fun Show Time where fans can see Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli in person.

  • Meet & Greets: Daily opportunities for children to meet their favorite characters.

  • Themed Sleepovers: The CBeebies Land Hotel features award-winning Bluey-themed rooms, designed to look just like Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom, allowing the adventure to continue through the night.

Why This Matters

According to leadership at Alton Towers and BBC Studios, this project represents a significant milestone for the brand. By bringing the show’s humor and heart to a physical theme park attraction, the resort aims to create “giggle-packed” memories for families.

As construction continues toward the Spring 2026 opening, the resort is keeping specific technical details under wraps, but the message to fans is clear: get ready for a colorful, playful adventure that is truly “for real life.”
