Get your Pokéballs ready, because the world of Pokémon is finally getting a permanent home at Universal Studios Japan! USJ and The Pokémon Company just dropped a major announcement: they are officially moving beyond parades and short-term shows to create “world-class, immersive experiences.”
According to Mark Woodbury, Chairman and CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences, this project is part of a broader strategy to bring “fan-first, trip-driving characters” to their global park footprint.
While they’re keeping the exact details under wraps for now, the timing couldn’t be better. This year marks Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, and the CEOs of both companies are promising “unprecedented” attractions that will eventually roll out to Universal parks worldwide. Could we finally be getting a Pokémon land to rival Super Nintendo World? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain—the future of USJ looks legendary.
