Get your pencils ready—something magical is sketching its way to the Magic of Disney Animation, coming soon to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! While the doors haven’t officially opened yet, the buzz surrounding the upcoming debut of Olaf Draws! is already snow-balling. This reimagined experience promises to bring everyone’s favorite snowman to center stage, transforming the classic drawing class into an immersive, high-tech journey into the heart of Arendelle’s creativity.
A Host Like No Other
The centerpiece of this new experience is an impressively lifelike Audio-Animatronics® figure of Olaf. Taking inspiration from the acclaimed short Once Upon a Studio, Olaf is positioned right where he belongs: at an animator’s desk, joyfully discovering the magic of the pencil.
His presence isn’t just a visual treat; it’s an emotional one. To ensure the experience feels truly authentic, Josh Gad returned to record original dialogue specifically for this attraction. His signature blend of curiosity and encouragement provides the perfect soundtrack for guests as they find their own artistic rhythm.
A Studio Designed for Every Artist
The physical space has been transformed into a “reimagined animator’s studio,” striking a delicate balance between professional workspace and Frozen-inspired whimsy. The design team clearly prioritized inclusivity in the layout:
• For the Young Animators: Custom sleigh-themed tables provide a playful, ergonomic space for children to let their imaginations run wild.
• For the “Kids at Heart”: Traditional animator-style workstations allow adults to feel as though they’ve stepped directly into a Walt Disney Animation Studios office.
The Spirit of Encouragement
Beyond the technology and the decor, the heart of “Olaf Draws!” is its message. As Josh Gad noted during the recording process, the goal was to capture Olaf’s infectious optimism to spark something special in young artists. It isn’t just about drawing a perfect circle; it’s about the joy of creation.
Whether you’re a seasoned illustrator or picking up a pencil for the first time in years, “Olaf Draws!” offers a rare opportunity to learn from the most optimistic teacher in Arendelle.
The Magic of Disney Animation will be opening later this year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
