Fun Spot America has announced that its Atlanta theme park will permanently cease operations, with its final day scheduled for August 2, 2026. This decision marks the end of the park’s tenure in the Fayetteville community, where it has served millions of guests since its opening.
John Arie Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Fun Spot America, described the closure as an “extremely difficult decision.” In his statement, Arie expressed deep gratitude toward the Atlanta team for their hard work and dedication in fostering a family-friendly environment. He also extended his appreciation to the surrounding Fayetteville community for their long-term support.
In response to the transition, company leadership has committed to supporting its staff. Fun Spot America intends to work closely with its team members throughout the closure process, ensuring they are treated with respect and provided with necessary transition resources.
For park guests, normal daily operations will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. until the final closing date of August 2, 2026. Current policy dictates that Season Passes and gift cards remain valid at the Atlanta park through that date. Furthermore, these items will continue to be honored at Fun Spot America’s remaining locations in Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida.
The company plans to contact guests with outstanding reservations—including those for group events and field trips—in the coming weeks to provide further guidance.
While the Atlanta chapter is coming to a close, Fun Spot America maintains its commitment to its other properties. The organization will continue to operate its established parks in Orlando and Kissimmee.
Reflecting on the park’s history, Arie noted the company’s pride in the memories forged at the Atlanta location and thanked all who participated in that chapter of the organization’s story.
