If your idea of holiday music involves a few more guitar solos than usual, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has your seasonal fix. From November 4 through January 6, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will run a limited-time holiday version called Obligatory Holiday Overlay, with The Electric Mayhem putting a loud, lovable spin on the season.
You will not have to wait until you are inside to feel the change. Holiday music will play in the courtyard around the attraction’s giant guitar marquee, so the mood is set before you even reach the door of G-Force Records.
Inside the studio, the whole band is on hand: Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips. They are preparing a holiday show, and a few other Muppet friends drop by to help, with mixed results. As showtime approaches, the preparations go sideways, which is exactly what you would expect from this band.
The Holiday Set List
No holiday concert is complete without new songs, and the band is bringing seasonal tracks, some with guest stars. The announced lineup includes:
- “Holiday Road” with Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear
- “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” with Jennifer Hudson
- “Silver Bells” with Cyndi Lauper
- “Little Saint Nick” by The Electric Mayhem
