The state of California has issued its official amusement/theme park reopening guidelines that must be in place when they reopen under California’s reopening tier system. This includes reaching the state’s red tier, which has to have capacities at 15% capacity, up to 25% in the Orange tier and 35% in Yellow.
Here are the regulations:
- Mandatory face coverings and COVID testing for park employees
- Performers must stay at least six feet from guests if unmasked
- All queuing for attractions will be outdoor only
- No indoor dining
- Online (reservation) ticketing only
- Only California Residents can visit parks that are open
Six Flags Magic Mountain and Discovery Kingdom have announced that they will begin reopening on April 1. LEGOLAND California will also begin reopening the same day.
As far as Disneyland Resort, they’ve announced that they will begin reopening their parks on April 30. Their separate-ticketed event “A Touch of Disney” continues.
Universal Studios Hollywood has not yet announced a reopening date. They too have a separate ticketed event currently happening called “A Taste of Universal.”
