Masks Not Required Outdoors at Cedar Point Unless Necessary, No Temperature Checks

Cedar Point will soon be reopening for its 2021 season. The park recently announced some of its opening guidelines for COVID-19.

One of the more interesting ones is Cedar Point will not require facemasks outdoors this season “unless it is not possible to maintain 6’ of social distancing.” Guests aged 10 and older will need to wear masks in all indoor locations. Cedar Point mentions that masks are “recommended” while riding rides.

Here are a few more of their guidelines for reopening:

  • Reservations will be required for Cedar Point and Cedar Point Shores Waterpark. Both Season Passholders and Single Day Ticketholders will need reservations.
  • Temperature checks for guests have been discontinued
  • The health screen questionnaire will be conducted by associates at all entrance gates and will not be through the Cedar Point mobile app.
  • There will be no limitations to ride capacity, but social distancing remains in place while waiting in line. Face coverings are recommended while riding rides.

Cedar Point will be open weekends only in May and late August, with daily operations running May 28 through Aug. 15. For more details on their reopening, visit the official site here.
