Avengers Campus will officially be opening to guests on Friday, June 4 at Disney California Adventure, and with it will come a plethora of Marvel superheroes that will interact with guests and the land.
During the grand opening moment at Disney California Adventure, Captain America himself, Anthony Mackie, made a special appearance at the grand opening announcing that his version of Captain America will be featured at Avengers Campus. Anthony then handed off the shield to the character version of Captain America that will be making appearances in Avengers Campus. No word on whether or not he will be a meet and greet character or a “streetmosphere” character in the land.
Here’s what Anthony had to say about Captain America coming to Avengers Campus:
“It was an emotional moment for me to film the scene when Sam Wilson finally becomes Captain America – it’s a moment that is all about the future. A moment where kids of all races can look at Captain America and maybe see a little bit of themselves. I’m so proud to be a part of the cinematic universe and now a part of all of this. So with that.. it is my honor to introduce for the first time in Avengers Campus … Captain America!”
